We all know someone who has had Breast Cancer. The Breast Form Fund was founded in 1994 to offer financial assistance to uninsured and under-insured women to purchase breast prostheses and post-mastectomy bras after breast cancer surgery. These products help women regain their sense of beauty and self-assurance after surgery and for years to come. The Breast Form Fund offers assistance to women of all ages and cultural backgrounds who live in Massachusetts. In addition to providing funds for women, The Breast Form Fund's intention is to increase awareness of breast health. In the past, The Breast Form Fund was affiliated with several different non-profit agencies but is now an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Click on HOW TO APPLY for more information. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - THE BREAST FORM FUND NEEDS YOU! We are currently seeking volunteers for our 2008 Columbus Day Weekend (October 11, 12, 13) Silent Auction event at the Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton, Massachusetts. We are looking for outgoing, goodwill ambassadors to sell our Show Us Your BRA! 2009 Calendars and bra pins, work our daily silent auction, and booth sit for Paradise City Arts Festival exhibitors. We are asking that volunteers to commit to a 4-hour shift in exchange for parking and entry to the festival the day of their shift. (Daily festival tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for seniors.) SHOW US YOUR BRA!™ Show Us Your BRA! ™ is the biennial fundraising event that benefits The Breast Form Fund. The contest, auction and gala feature creative, witty and artistic interpretations of the bra. To date, Show Us Your BRA! has auctioned more than 700 bra creations, produced eight calendars and raised funds that have helped hundreds of women regain their sense of beauty and self-assurance after breast cancer surgery. The next Show Us Your BRA! event will occur again in 2009. If you are interested in submitting a bra creation for the 2009 contest, contest rules will be posted on the Show Us Your BRA! website in April 2009. Bra submissions will be due in mid-September 2009. Bras submitted to the 2009 contest will be auctioned at the Show Us Your BRA! Gala event in mid-October and selected bras will be featured in the 2010 & 2011 Show Us Your BRA! Calendars.
